Michael J. Marchese, MD, has been a pivotal figure at Shore Point Radiation Oncology Center in Lakewood, New Jersey, since 2009, serving as medical director and enhancing the quality of care for patients in the region.
Dr. Marchese brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles, including medical director at the Center for Advanced Radiation Oncology in Toms River and radiation oncologist at Community Medical Center and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. At Columbia, he also contributed to medical education as a faculty member at Columbia Medical School.
Dr. Marchese completed his undergraduate studies magna cum laude at New York University and earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. His residency training was conducted at prestigious institutions, including Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Throughout his career, Dr. Marchese has garnered numerous accolades, including the American Radium Society Resident/Fellow Award, the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology Oncology Research Travel Grant, and the American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Career Development Award.
In 2018, he was honored with the Marquis Who’s Who in America Lifetime Achievement Award. A Board-Certified Fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology, Dr. Marchese was named a New Jersey Top Doc in 2019. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Marchese is committed to compassionate patient care, meticulously crafting treatment plans and ensuring each patient feels comfortable and informed.
Outside of his professional life, he enjoys skiing, softball, golf, and traveling to nature sites. A New Jersey resident for 35 years, Dr. Marchese is dedicated to his work and community, balancing a fulfilling career with a vibrant personal life with his wife and three children.
