Hemangini (Hemi) Shah, DO, a renowned radiation oncologist with over 20 years of experience, joined Shore Point Radiation Oncology Center in Lakewood, New Jersey, in September 2021. Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Shah brings a wealth of expertise from her previous positions at Shore Medical Center, Hackensack Meridian Health – Southern Ocean Medical Center, and RWJ Barnabas – Community Medical Center.
Before joining Shore Point, Dr. Shah held notable academic roles, including assistant professor and later associate professor at State University of New York (SUNY) – Upstate Medical University. She also served as teaching faculty in the radiation oncology residency program at SUNY – University Hospital and contributed as a faculty member for the Osler Institute Board Review Course for Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Shah's clinical proficiency spans a variety of advanced cancer treatments, including body radiosurgery, brachytherapy (real-time prostate seed implants), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), and 3D conformal radiation therapy. Her contributions to the field are highlighted by her authorship in peer-reviewed journals and her role as an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Thoracic Oncology and Radiology. She has also presented her research at national and international radiation oncology conferences.
Her accolades include the Top Oncologist award since 2010, induction as a Fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology, and recognition in Marquis Who’s Who in America. A dedicated New Jersey resident for over 30 years, Dr. Shah is deeply involved in her community. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys hiking, walking, cooking, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
